Synthesis of scientific research on the application of mechanized grapevine pruning in the Republic of Moldova

Abstract

One of the basic problems in the viticulture branch is the improvement of perspective technologies for both vine training systems: with vertical standing and with free position of shoots, adapted to the requirements of complex mechanization. The multi-annual experimental data, obtained (in the years 1980-2023) on the varieties Feteasca alba, Rkatsiteli, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat Ottonel, Pinot blanc R7, served as the basis for modernizing the trellis to the system with free positioning of canes and shoots, improving the system of forming trunks and their accommodation to favor the application of devices for mechanical punning of vine canes.
Research results demonstrate that the amount of benefit obtained from mechanical (mechanized) punning compared to that obtained from manual pruning increases by 40-70%, and the recovery of additional expenses is essential, varying, depending on the training system and the planting scheme, from 2.5 to 4.2 (MDL) per 1 (MDL) of additional expenses
